In order for us to ensure a smooth process, please ensure you have all the necessary information to hand. The more prepared you are, the better!
Required documents
Most lenders will ask for all the below information, but some lenders may vary in their requirements.
- Bank statements for the last three months
- Three months’ wage slips
- Information about guaranteed overtime, commissions, or bonuses
- If you’re self-employed, proof of account for the last three years
- Information on existing loans, credit card commitments, or existing mortgages
- Details of any defaults, arrears, or County Court Judgements (if applicable)
- Documents proving existing savings, pensions, endowments, life insurance, or other healthcare policies
- Proof of address - a utility bill dated within the last three months is a good example
- P60 form (if available)
Following your appointment, we’ll also need proof of your identity, such as a passport or drivers licence. In order to get a mortgage in principle, we’ll need the following on file:
- Identification
- Address
- Proof of income
Recommended: it can be beneficial to have your credit report available. They’re often free online.

- Details of employer benefits, such as death in service and sick pay
- Outstanding mortgage amount
- Information about any existing protection plans, including those we've arranged for you.
